It includes:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The address bar to choose the root directory to scan.<\/li>\n<li>Button to start scanning.<\/li>\n<li>The list of groups found.<\/li>\n<li>The individual images of a group.<\/li>\n<li>The view of the blended group.<\/li>\n<li>The buttons Options, About and Exit.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2 id=\"conf\">Quick Setup<\/h2>\n<p>During the first use, the Quick Setup window is displayed (It can also be called by clicking the button <img decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: -8px; border: none;\" title=\"Configuration Rapide\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/chrono.png\" \/>).<\/p>\n<p>This window allows you to select the primary mode of operation (search for duplicates or for pictures showing the same objects), as well as the &#8220;strength&#8221; of this research.<\/p>\n<p>For more specific settings, use the options button <img decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: -8px; border: none;\" title=\"options\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/options.png\" alt=\"\" \/> (see below).<\/p>\n<h4>&#8220;Duplicates&#8221; Mode<\/h4>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float: right; border: none;\" title=\"Quick setup\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/quickConf.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/>Duplicate images are <strong>visually very similar<\/strong>, both in terms of framing and content.<\/p>\n<p>The slider adjusts the required level of similarity.<\/p>\n<h4>&#8220;Matching&#8221; Mode<\/h4>\n<p>This mode allows you to search for images showing the same views or objects. <span id=\"result_box\" class=\"short_text\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"hps\">It<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">can detect<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">panoramas.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The slider adjusts the level of similarity of objects or views in the images.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"result_box\" class=\"\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"hps\">If you uncheck the box <\/span>for\u00a0<span class=\"hps\">fast<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">search<\/span> of panoramas, unlike the &#8220;Duplicate&#8221; mode, views can be with differents zoom factors and points of view. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"result_box\" class=\"\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"hps\">Checking the box <\/span>for\u00a0<span class=\"hps\">fast<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">search<\/span> of panoramas, will <span class=\"hps\">speeds up<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">the analysis<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">by ignoring<\/span><span class=\"hps\"> the<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">zoomed<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">elements.<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">There is a real\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"hps\">speed gain<\/span><\/span><span id=\"result_box\" class=\"\" lang=\"en\">!<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"analyse\">Analysis<\/h2>\n<p>Specify a root directory to scan, using either the button <img decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: -8px; border: none;\" title=\"folder\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/folder.png\" alt=\"\" \/>, or by typing in the text box.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p id=\"tw-target-text\" class=\"tw-data-text tw-ta tw-text-small\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"Traduction\"><span lang=\"en\">If the directories to be analyzed are not in the same tree, it is possible to enter them one after the other by separating them with a semicolon.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The check box on the right allows to limit the search for images in that sole directory (by default, the subdirectories are scanned).<\/p>\n<p>Start the search by clicking the button\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: -8px; border: none;\" title=\"start\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/start.png\" alt=\"\" \/>.\u00a0 It then becomes <img decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: -8px; border: none;\" title=\"stop\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/stop.png\" alt=\"\" \/>. To stop the scan click the button again.<\/p>\n<p>Note: Throughout the analysis, the address bar is replaced by a progress bar.<\/p>\n<p>The analysis has two major phases:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The Image analysis.<\/li>\n<li>The search for matches. During this stage, groups of images are built and begin to be displayed.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Groups<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"float: right; border: none;\" title=\"Groupes\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/groupe.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"275\" \/>Groups of images are displayed as thumbnails within the left list area. When one group is selected, the various images that compose it are shown in the upper area and a view of the group in the lower area.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The top view<\/strong> (pictures composing the group) allows you to manipulate the group:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Click on the images while holding down &#8220;Ctrl&#8221; or &#8220;Shift&#8221; buttons to select \/ de-select individual pictures. The group view below is updated.<\/li>\n<li>Click on <img decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: -8px; border: none;\" title=\"remove\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/removesmall.png\" alt=\"\" \/> to remove the corresponding picture from the group (the image remains on disk).<\/li>\n<li>Click on <img decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: -8px; border: none;\" title=\"delete\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/deletesmall.png\" alt=\"\" \/> to permanently delete the corresponding picture from your computer (after confirmation the image is moved to the system trash).<\/li>\n<li>Double click the thumbnail to open the image and access the metadata.<\/li>\n<li>Click on the image while holding down &#8220;Alt&#8221; button to &#8220;pin&#8221; the image. This is used to split groups (Right clik to get the contextuel menu).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>The bottom view <\/strong><\/span>(Group view) allows you to modify the projection parameters:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The buttons <img decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: -8px; border: none;\" title=\"ProjSphere\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/projsphere.png\" alt=\"\" \/> and <img decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: -8px; border: none;\" title=\"ProjPlan\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/projplan.png\" alt=\"\" \/> switchs between a spherical projection and a planar projection.<\/li>\n<li>The boutons <img decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: -8px; border: none;\" title=\"blendingMode\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panaustik.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/featherBlend.png\" alt=\"\" \/> and <img decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: -8px; border: none;\" title=\"BlendingMode\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panaustik.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/cutBlend.png\" alt=\"\" \/> switchs between the two blending modes: feathering or image cut.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Panoramas<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/panorama1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"float: right; border: none;\" title=\"panorama\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/panorama.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"102\" \/><\/a>To launch the panorama, click <img decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: -8px; border: none;\" title=\"exportPano\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/exportpano.png\" alt=\"\" \/>.<\/p>\n<p>The panorama is calculated from the current setting of the group (selected images) and the projection mode (Plannar or Spherical). Such treatment is quite lengthy because the group is fully recalculated based on original (non reduced) pictures in order to gain the best possible quality!<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Cropping<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Once the panorama is generated, it can be cropped \/ aligned.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Recording<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"float: right; border: none;\" title=\"vuePano\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/vuepano.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"217\" \/>By default, the name of the panorama is the name of the first image of the group supplemented with &#8220;-pano&#8221; (configurable in options).<\/li>\n<li>The meta data of the first image of the group are preserved (configurable in options).<\/li>\n<li>All pictures in the group are moved to a subdirectory (image name + &#8220;-group&#8221;) of the one of the panorama.\u00a0A thumbnail of the panorama view is also copied. (<em>Thus, the images used for the panorama are isolated, and there remains only the pan within the original directory<\/em>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 id=\"options\">Options<\/h2>\n<p>The options (button<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: -8px; border: none;\" title=\"options\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/options.png\" alt=\"\" \/>) allow you to configure <strong>Panaustik<\/strong> :<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: -8px; border: none;\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/lang.png\" alt=\"lang\" width=\"32\" height=\"32\" \/><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong> Language<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Defines the language for the application. Panaustik should be restarted after modification.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: -8px; border: none;\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/modeTab.png\" alt=\"lang\" width=\"32\" height=\"32\" \/><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong> Operating mode<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Select the Panaustik operating mode: Duplicates or similarities (see also &#8220;Quick Options&#8221;).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: -8px; border: none;\" title=\"dimTab\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/dimtab.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"32\" height=\"32\" \/><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Size<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Defines the thumbnails size.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: -8px; border: none;\" title=\"analysisTab\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/analysistab.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"32\" height=\"32\" \/><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Analysis<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Thread numbers<\/span>: Specify the number of images analyzed in parallel. By default, this is the number of processors or cores.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Picture size<\/span>: The analyzes are done on smaller picture for performance reasons. Warning, smaller size improves Panaustik performance at price of less good matches.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Zoom<\/span>: A large value can find matches on objects with significant scale differences.
